High in the hills.

Since it's been a bit too snowy to ride, the Family & I thought it would be cool to pile in the bagger and fuck around in the hills. Good times.

Heellllloooo Ladies!!!.... History Lesson continued. This one's for the girls.

By far the minority in our world, women play a key roll in the history of the moto world. From the Wall Of Death riders, old and new, to the Motor Maids, they have been around just as long as the boys, and sometimes even out do their male counterparts. The first section of pictures in this post shows the section of the museum dedicated to these marvelous creatures that have mesmerized us men since their creation. It is a section that includes a time line of the history of the Motor Maids, and some memorabilia of other prominent women in the history of motorcycles. The one who stood out most to me was a Margaret Wilson. Her and her husband ran a very popular motorcycle dealership for years (Wilson's Motorcycle Sales of Cedar Rapids), and Margaret herself has put back more miles when she was in her 70's than some people will do in a lifetime. She is also a AMA Hall Of Fame inductee, as well as a Golden Life member of the Motor Maids. In one picture you can see her on a ride back from California in 2003 in here all white Motor Maids attire, and with a birth year of 1920, that would make her 83 or so in the picture. There is also a shot of her and her husband on the very same mini 1950 Harley 125cc shown in other pictures. The last section is at the very end of the museum, and it focuses more on the daredevil women in motorcycling history. The Wall Of Death riders. Please also check out the this article on Margaret from the AMA Hall Of Fame website. Cheers ladies!

Bet you thought I forgot.... History Lesson continued...

So I suck at life, deal with it. For those of you who don't know I am in the middle of a job transfer, and have been busier than shit. Sorry for my slacking on getting more of these pics up. Here is another round from the National Motorcycle Museum in Alamosa Iowa. This post were going racing..... Board track racing that is...... enjoy fuckers.....

These are all from there Board Track section which actually has the bikes placed on a replica piece of board track. There is also a video that loops in this area with original restored footage of actually races from the early 1900's. The video even has some sidecar action on it. Yet another reason to support this amazing Mecca of Moto Madness. Check out the one pic in the middle. Nearest we could tell it seems to be some sort of a pace bike. It was quite the contraption.

Just three...

...of the many reasons No School Choppers is straight up cool. These lenses are killer as well as all the other parts and bikes coming outta there. Jason even did up some bars for Charlie's tetanus shot. Check em' out.

Ma

Taken from our 76' Dodge van, that I basically grew up in. If it weren't Two Wheels, it was that Van, My Mom, and Me. I remember at 5 years old, after returning from New York in the blizzard of 82', & playing a blind child to save our German Shepard, Ma, throwing up this beautiful piece of wisdom, as She often does in the most trying of times. Since, I have always dug on this very thought, staring, and pondering on it for many, many moons. Flash on, 30 somethin' years later... and it's still beautiful, & still relevant. Thank you Mom, for being so cool, and most of all, showing me that time is more important than anything else. Love, Loyalty, & Respect.
